Battle Forest was established in the late 1960s and early 1970s with newer homes coming into the northern part of the neighborhood in the mid 1980s. North of Cotswold Avenue is Cotswold Village, where many of the newer homes reside. Lake Brandt Road and Lawndale Drive enclose the neighborhood to the north, where children will attend Jesse Wharton Elementary, and children south of Cotswold Ave will attend Joyner Elementary in the 2003-4 school year. New construction in Howard’s Walk began late 2002, located opposite of Regents Park Lane and Lake Brandt Rd.
